A sister’s prayer

Still she lies on my tired pillow

Still she lies on my unmade bed

Silently she sleeps

Silently she dreams of hope

And calmer days

Silently i pray that they may come

Still she lies as her

Breathing slows

And she is calm

And peacefully she sleeps

And silently i pray that she will

wake into a beter day.

Not a drop to spare

Drip drip drip
Drops of life
Drops of rain
Water
Smashes against waves
Of masses of water.
Water
Hope
Life
So much water
And yet
There is not enough
In the right places.
Not enough to go around.
Water.
Gallons and gallons of water
And not a single drop to spare.

Growing up

The sun
The sea
The salt coarse sand
Smacking against my
Sun scorched skin
The summer
Reminds me of the days
When running from
Roaring waves and
Scraped knees
Where my only worries
Yet
Winter is inevitable
And with it comes
Growing up

Grace

Young yet mature

Positive yet not naive

Beautiful yet oblivious

Pure yet not innocent

Lonely yet not alone

Hurt but not torn

Broken

Yet put back together by grace
